This working days calculator counts how many business days fall between two dates. It includes Monday through Friday and excludes Saturdays, Sundays, and any holidays you choose to add.
For example, August 2026 runs from August 1, 2026 to August 31, 2026 and contains 21 working days, 10 weekend days, and 31 days in total.
How Working Days Are Counted
The calculator steps through every day from the start date to the end date and sorts each one into a category. Weekdays that are not holidays count as working days. Saturdays and Sundays are weekend days. Any date you list as a holiday is removed from the working total.
Both the start and the end date are included in the range, so a Monday to Friday range counts five working days.
Adding Your Own Holidays
Public holidays differ by country and even by region, so the calculator lets you enter your own. Add one date per line in year month day format, for example 2026 12 25 for Christmas. Company days off, local holidays, and shutdown periods can all be included this way. Any date that is already a weekend is not counted twice.
