This date difference calculator measures the length of time between two dates. It shows the gap as a total number of days, as weeks and days, as a breakdown of years, months, and days, and as a count of business days.
For example, from January 1, 2026 to June 22, 2026 there are 172 days. The result updates instantly when you change either date.
How the Calculation Works
The tool counts the full days between the two dates you enter. The order does not matter, because it always measures from the earlier date to the later one.
- Total days is the plain count of calendar days between the dates.
- Weeks and days splits that total into whole weeks plus any leftover days.
- Years, months, and days gives a human friendly breakdown, the same way you would describe an age.
- Business days counts only Monday through Friday and skips weekends.
Inclusive and Exclusive Counting
By default the calculator counts the nights between the dates, which is the exclusive method. If you turn on the inclusive option, it counts both the first and last day, which adds one to the total. Inclusive counting is common for event length, hotel stays, and rental periods.
What People Use It For
