Business Day Calculator

Add or subtract business days from a date, skipping weekends and any holidays you add, to find the resulting working day.

Holidays you list are skipped along with weekends.
Result date
Thursday, August 27, 2026
Day of the week: Thursday

This business day calculator moves a date forward or backward by a number of working days. It counts only Monday through Friday and skips weekends and any holidays you add, so the result always lands on a working day.

For example, adding 10 business days to August 13, 2026 gives Thursday, August 27, 2026.

How Business Days Are Counted

The calculator steps one day at a time in the direction you choose and counts a day only when it is a working day. Weekends are skipped, and any date in your holiday list is skipped too. It keeps going until it has counted the number of business days you asked for.

This is different from adding plain calendar days. Ten calendar days from a Wednesday is the following Saturday, but ten business days from that Wednesday is two weeks later.

Adding Compared With Subtracting

Choose add to find a future working day, such as a delivery date or a deadline a set number of working days away. Choose subtract to find a past working day, such as the latest date you could have started to meet a deadline.

Using Your Own Holidays

Holidays vary by country and company, so you can enter your own. Add one date per line in year month day format. The calculator skips those days the same way it skips weekends, which keeps deadlines realistic for your calendar.

What People Use It For

  • Setting delivery and dispatch dates
  • Calculating payment terms such as net working days
  • Planning service level deadlines
  • Scheduling tasks that only happen on working days
