This quarter calculator tells you which calendar quarter a date belongs to and shows the first and last day of that quarter. A quarter is a three month block, and the year is divided into four of them.
For example, August 10, 2026 falls in Q3 of 2026, which runs from July 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026.
How Calendar Quarters Work
The standard calendar quarters divide the year into four equal parts of three months each.
- Q1 runs from January 1 to March 31.
- Q2 runs from April 1 to June 30.
- Q3 runs from July 1 to September 30.
- Q4 runs from October 1 to December 31.
Calendar Quarters and Fiscal Quarters
This tool uses the standard calendar quarters that start in January. Many companies and governments use a fiscal year that starts in a different month, so their fiscal quarters are shifted. If your organisation uses a fiscal calendar, treat these results as the calendar quarter and adjust to your fiscal start month.
